I see painting as a medium for imprinting the reliefs of the soul and which, beyond the Native Land and the Promised Land, offers me Unique places.
Behind the plane of representation I reveal the gestures, the forms and the colours of the concept I invent in pursuit of the invisible.
To paint I need tempered transcendence, I set out into the void, at a given point the movement of the brush stops and there the need to change direction becomes urgent. Pass through where? To make the hidden image visible I need a gesture as swift as it is resolute. My images express the desire to break free, to take flight, to cling, to impose themselves, to twist, to penetrate, to become intoxicated, to win, the desire for neutral space. Much impatience, curiosity, but also attacks, duels.
To soften but not erase, to force the whirlwind, to evoke strange entrails. To alter landscapes, to fly towards zenithal perspectives without landmarks.
To create images that are sometimes frenzied and grating, sometimes unwanted and defiant, images that stay suspended, that leap, climb, in a word that dance. A kind of choreography guiding them. Ballet there is, ballet without ground, ballet in the air, ballet in the Outreciel. Inhabitants of the Outreciel.
Not strokes of the brush but strokes of the sky-broom*, enlargements of the impact, affirmations of primordial bursts: foundations of Births.
